Using this future-oriented technology goes without saying for us as a driver of innovation. With the selective laser melting (SLM) process we make it possible for our clients to manufacture metal parts which serve a very wide variety of purposes: 

  • Low-cost production of spare parts without using a pattern (so-called reverse engineering by scanning the required part for instance)
  • Production of prototypes: For initial performance tests or for shortening the time to market (market development)
  • Production of end products featuring a high geometric complexity
  • Production of tools or tool components (with integrated form-fitting coolant bores for instance)
  • Hybrid manufacturing: Manufacturing on a conventionally produced component using SLM

What is slm (selective laser melting)? 

A high-power laser melts metal powder which is coated continuously by a so-called "blade" in several cycles. When the required part is completed, it can be removed from the excess powder and separated from the metallic substrate plate. The process allows various, geometrically differing parts to be produced simultaneously, which has a positive impact on individual costs.

3d-printing in the sand casting process 

We use 3D-printing technology even for producing large parts. Printing sand moulds and sand cores allows us to manufacture parts up to 2000 x 2000 x 2000 mm using the sand casting process.
